Los Angeles artist, Lore Eckelberry, produces a series of abstract paintings that expresses her inner glow of love for life.

The strong emotion and energy that she feels for life inspires her to use strong vivid colors.

It has been acknowledged that the soul of a man can be reflected and recorded in his art. The art of expression is in itself an ability innate to the artist. To be able to portray deep emotion throughout a piece of painting it is in itself a direct communication from the soul. Many times we need to have that communication in order to feel more alive, to look at the future and know that life is worth living, that life is not that bad after all. We need the wavelength of the aesthetics that come through a piece of art, because they are like vitamins for the soul. And after receiving it we feel stronger, happier and inspired to create a better future.
We need the energy of art to keep us going. It is very important for a civilization to have enough art to create a strong force of positive energy towards its population. A civilization cannot flourish and proper without enough creation and art. Hence the Golden Ages, where creation of art was at its strongest, and people accepted it as such. We need art for the soul in the same way the body needs water to survive.

Lore Eckelberry says, “My goal as an artist is to achieve a very strong communication between my art and the observer. To communicate strong emotions through the strength of color. I want my art works to talk by themselves and tell you how they feel, what is on their mind and how was their day. They will also ask you the question ‘what do you think?’
I want you to have a complete communication with my work and feel completely transported to another world, a world of esthetics and beauty. A world where your emotions can be expressed freely and you can let go. A world where you feel strong and happy. A world where only your own opinion counts. A world where you feel the complete certainty that is ok to be you. A world of your own”.

new anime art

Artist Lore Eckelberry has translated her interest in Japanese art and history into a line of several large scale paintings that use the strong emotion and action of anime art.

Just imagine, Matisse meets Warhol. That’s how acrylic-gouache on canvas works of artist Lore Eckelberry show her spontaneous, explosive paintings that exude the artist’s love of expression of strong emotions that range up and down the scale, from happiness to complete terror. Lore’s emphasis on color creates a complete, modern and innovative strength in art expression.

Lore Eckelberry uses photographs, comics and picture books to inspire herself. As for color she gets inspired as her emotions feel at the moment that she is painting, that could be anywhere from a light yellow to a strong red and anywhere in between.

For instance in the painting The Eye, Lore expresses the strength of emotion portrayed in the glimpse of an eye.

Lore tries to concentrate on the brilliance of simplicity. Lore explains “the best art tells us something about ourselves, makes us think, and focuses our attention on the unconscious which nevertheless invades our daily lives.”
